Take a Dream Ticket

1. Take a Dream Ticket

Choose anywhere in the world, or somewhere you dream of. Fill in the Dream Ticket worksheet, find the place on a map or globe, then draw Pink Patsy or Bobby Blue there. Margaret, our illustrator, painted her own Dream Tickets to The Shard and to the dinosaur footprints in Dorset!

Learning: geography, map skills, art and imagination.

There’s no place like home

2. There’s no place like home

Go on a nature walk near home, just like Pink Patsy at Dollis Brook, a short walk from The Redwood Forest. Look and listen: a tree, a duck, a bird singing, the wind in the leaves. Take Pink Patsy or Bobby Blue along, take a photo, and draw a simple map of your route with a key.

Learning: local area, simple maps, plants, animals, seasons and weather.

Write your own story

3. Write your own story

Print the “Pink Patsy and the…” story booklet. Plan a beginning, a middle and an end, then write a few lines and draw a picture on each page. Then colour a star for anything you tried, like a capital letter or a describing word. There’s no wrong way to tell a story!

Learning: writing, reading, sentence building and confidence.

Be an artist

4. Be an artist

Pink Patsy visited the National Gallery and saw Van Gogh’s famous Sunflowers. Look at a famous painting together, talk about the colours, lines and shapes, then paint your own version with Pink Patsy hiding in it.

Learning: art and design, colour, pattern and learning about artists.

Open the Follow Pink Patsy Adventure Map together. Click a pin, read the questions, and find out how far each place is from The Redwood Forest. Can you find the furthest trip? Which places are near the sea?
